> Ericsson Amplifiers problem

Some friend mentioned to me that most ericsson phones have problematic amplifiers (dont ask me what an amplifier is). He said that the main reason ericsson phones break down is because the amplifiers "burn" or something like that. He also said that a lot of t39 phones faced the problem.
Could somebody confirm having this problem? What does the amplifier do?

i've had this problem your referring to, the service center said it was the IC unit i think, my understanding was it's the phones power unit or amplifier.
symptom: phone overheated and the metal frame got dangerously hot when i powered it on in a short space of time without being used.
it broke down and wouldn't work at all and got changed for a new one.
this happened 3 or 4 times in the space of a year.
have not experienced anything like it with the T68 and none of the 3 or 4 people i know who had T28's experienced the same thing but it was well documented on the web as an issue at the time.

It's about the power amplifiers (PA) which is about the power supply of the phone. I learned from a source that some units (not the T68) suffered most from this problem.
