> p800 not connecting to pc

Can anyone pse help with this? I'm runing xp pro sp2 with mcafee internet suite and ms antispyware - installed p800 pc suite (orig cd) sync stn appears, phone conn link appears with usb box checked on comm4 and when phone is on sync stn reads connected but phone icon on desktop when opened reads not connected. I've done everything I could think of with f/wall but no change - so i installed the latest pc suite (v3.1.0) - no change.

have you followed the stepwise config process in the pc suite read me file??
there are some com ports which need enabling/disabling..
