I have subscribed to GPRS with my BSNL Postpaid. The connection is activated but BSNL is not able to send me Automatic setup message, so I somehow managed to get it working by putting manual settings provided on the website, but I think the settings are not correct as every now & then I keep getting WAP settins errors. I also tried the WAP configuration wizard on the SE India Website, but North zone is not listed in the drop down list where I live. Can someone help me getting Automatic setup?

The ppl at the customer care don't know how to configure a P910i. They are hopeless. The settings and tariff can be seen here http://www.punjab.bsnl.co.in/gprs.htm

And you can notice that the settings for P800/900 are posted two times on the page. So nobody can tell which one is correct.

Sorry Daddy ! PSU's I dare say ! You were brave to even try

Incidently: their Calcutta (east) settings that I knew last, DID work across regions (that was 2 mths back, fiddling with a cousins cell who works with BSNL in Indore, MP)

I couldn't get the MMS in place thou. But WaP DiD work.

Edit: & I was on a P8, so I think the access settings ought to work.

You mentioned about two type of settings. How can that be? It should have one ip and an apn address.

TO ACCESS CellOne portal , you have to manually enter the following setting in your existing settings that is sent by you from sonyEricsson :-

access point name (APN) :- Write " celloneportal " instead of www.n.po.

thats it.

by this seting , you will be able to surf wap.cellone.in

the other method is :-

go to www.cellone.in -> click bsnl gprs/mms setting link. a new window will be opened.enter your perticulars.

you will get setting on your phone.for bsnl north users , go to internet profiles in your phone menu and select bsnln-portal.now you can surf bsnl portal.for full fledged gprs you have to select bsnlpo wap.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THER SHOULD BE BLUSE TRIANGLE MADE ABOVE NETWORK SIGNAL SIGN THAT TELLS YOU THAT gprs is active and you can use it.for full fledged gprs in postpaid connection you have to call the customer care.i think there is a monthly fee for bsnl gprs postpaid users.
for prepaid users , you have togive application and 50 Rs. to your city's bsnl main office to activatefull fledged gprs i which you can open several sites besides cellone portal.
