Ive finally got the message saying my message memory is full. I have deleted one since i got my P910i last November. I know quite afew of them are longer than one sms long so im guessing the total limit is 4000 but it could quite easily be more. I dont know any program i can put on to tell me exactly.

just thought was abit of useful info for everyone using a P910

I thought the limit was based on the available free memory? I guess I now have a new goal - fill up my P910 with messages!

Has anyone actually tried though or is this just an assumption?
There may be a numerical limit in the same way that the K700 etc have with java apps. While there is no limit by size apart from available storage there is a limit of I think 70 java apps

Ive tried. Ive kept each months worth of sent items and inbox items. Once it gets full a message icon come up at the bottom of the screen with a diagonal red line across it, clicking on it brings up a message saying

"internal memory storage is full. SMS recpetion is disabled please make more space available"

Im in the process of deleting a months work of sms' now

Does your P910 slow down a bit when you keep such a large number of smses?

I'm up to 1130 now and I'm noticing a little lag when opening up "create new" and stuff like that.

If you managed to fill your C: drive with messages (or anything else) then you are ready to get a permanent lockup. For horror stories, just use the forum search.

Thats true if the internal memory becomes totally full the phone will no longer be able to restart though this is more of an issue with the P800 and less so with the P910 having 64MB internal memory

yea it does lock up alot, im deleting all the messages at the min but it takes so long to do. i just wanted to know how many i could save. Im thinking its close to 5000 because of the number of them that are longer than 1sms.
