In another post "_LAU_" suggested to lock the IMEI and customize the screen saver - can someone point out where to find out how to do this?

Hi
What I said was that in case you loose your phone (or get stolen), ask your operator to lock the IMEI so the theif can not use it as it is.
Also, most operators share locked IMEIs between them, so a stolen phone can not be used in another network.
About the screen saver lock, AFAIK only in the P9x0 you can do this.
Display Properties -> "Screen Saver device Lock [x]"
Enjoy your P!

PhoneSecure is also another temporary alternative. I've never had to use it, but i think it would be useful of i did.

PhoneSecure... I've tried 2 versions of it (trials).
Every thime I tried the program by sending a sepecial SMS, the phone hanged.
I think it's too buggy for a security program!

thanks for your replies - I'm interested to know how to make the screen saver show a phone number/contact info! (As _LAU_ suggested.

Unfortunately in the P9x0 the only way to do that is to get your favourite picture in photoshop, resize it to 320x208, and use the text tool to add the contact directly in the picture. Save it, and use it as a screen saver.
I've used a blank (black) picture as screen saver. Is more discreet.

The blank powersaver does not display an alternative contact in case you get your phone lost. THAT was the original question.

Phone Secure works okay on my phone, I don't have any problems. I think it's the best security application around.
