Morning all,

Hope someone can help. I've downloaded a video clip from a web site to my K700i via BT and it's been stored on the phone in the 'other' file. Problem is, is that there's no option to play the clip, only send via BT, IR or email. It is an mpeg clip.

I BT'd the clip to my pc but right clicking on the clip does not give me any 'save as' options, to change the file extention (if that is what is needed for it to work).

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

if it's on your PC already, you can change the extensions but you have to set your view option in your windows explorer to show known file extensions. after that, it will show the file extension and you can change it to whatever you want... then BT it back to the phone.

hi..welcome to esato..the k700i supports video playback in 3gp and mp4 formats. So if you try to send a video encoded in any format other than the supported two..it automatically gets placed in the others folder...if you transfer a 3gp or mpeg4 vid..it goes straight to the videos folder...you need to convert the mpeg vid to either 3gp or mpeg4 on your pc and then transfer it to the phne...you can use Imtoo video convertor or Xilisoft convertor...both support all popular formats This message was posted from a P900

Sorry guys. I'm a bit green when it gets this far! I've tried downloading Imtoo but can't find it on my pc now and I can't launch it.

Would it be possible for you to give me a 'step-by-step' in changing the file extensions on the pc.

Thanks.

Ok Buckle

Assumption/s:

# The files you d/loaded are not corrupt (codec error etc.)
# Your Machine's OS is Windows
--
# Keep the local (PC) folder where filez transfered AND the explorer window of your handsets content- Open.
# In Windows Explorer - click - View - Folder Options.
# One of the Tabs would have an option '.. Hide known file types,' Please UNselect it
# Now check if your files are indeed mpeg or 3gp ?
# If they are not, please use IMtoo (trial version would convert a max of 5 mins per file)
