Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has attempted replacing the S700i housing and if there is a guide anywhere? I love my phone but I've dropped it a few too many times, want her to look beautiful again!

Hi and welcome to esato.
Here is a pretty good guide on how to disassemble the S700.but the site is in chinese but the pictures will give you a pretty good idea on how to do it.

I'm not sure now that I want to do it myself, I'm clumsy at the best of times. Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK that will do it for a fee?

hi ragdoll, in the same situation with my s700 at the mo, its looking pretty scuffed and scratched all over, and ive heard it is quite a task to replace the housings. just had a look on eBay and found this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBay[....]ory=75547&item=6409873110&rd=1 apparently they can fit it as well. and they're located in London... May have to enquire about prices... hmmm

haha snap! I found them yesterday too. I enquired, basically it's £18 for the housing, £4 for the postage and they charge £25 to replace it so it's roughly £47 in all which isn't too bad I suppose. One site I found said they would have to send it to SE and that to get it looked at would cost £20 and then something about it costing another £92!

Yeah. I did it myself. The housing is in aftermarket one in unpainted ABS plastic. Look for an Ebay seller called Djfinn. Excellent fit from him. You will need some parts from you silver housing too. The sets do come with a screen but its not anti scratch. A screen protector from www.hongkongshop would sort it out though. Tools to do the job can be bought from Halfords for 7 GBP.
If i did it i would need the phone for a day as it would be done after i come home from work in the early hours of the morning.
