> Odd PC Suite Problem
Bookmark topic
Hi,
I have started having a issue with PC suite last week.It has been working fine for about 6 months no problems. Then last week I could not explore the MyP800 icon on the windows desktop. It would open up a window as usual but it shows as phone not connected?.everything else is fine I can Sync outlook, install symbian software on the phone,I can even use the SEUS to update my new P910I I got yesterday,it ran the update no problem.Like I said it developed last week when I had my P800 so when I got the P910 I uninstalled the Pc suite and reloaded it to see if it made any difference,It installed ok but seemed to bring back the My P800 icon when I reinstalled it.I am struggling at the moment as I cannot drop or move anything frome my phone.
I cant understand that everything else works, even tried another syncstation,no diffence
Any suggestions?
Cheers Gav

Maybe downloading the latest suite from the SE site would cure the problem!?

Two things:
- Reboot your phone. Sometimes the P needs a boot before the desktopc can recognize it.
- See if the PC Suite is properly configured for the right port. On the icon next to the clock, right click to bring the menu and click Properties. Mine sometimes looses these settings.

If that doesn't work, this thread might help...

Thanks Guys,
Tried rebooting etc no change.
But thats the odd thing.the phone is connected!!I can sync outlook, even update it using the the SEUS, the problem was not with my new phone it started last week after i had been using the PC suite on my PC for months? its a symptom that has just occured, with no apparent reason
I simply cannot explore the desktop shortcut because it says the phone is not connected..but as I can Syncronisze outlook,Install .SiS files and even use the update service so it must be connected, its just not showing that in the windows desktop shortcut.
I know that alot of people have had probelems with the phone not connecting and have read all the posts above but they had a slightly different problem,ie nor connecting and not being able to sync etc.
Really frustrated

That's a weird problem.
If reinstalling PC Suite didn't help, try the PC File Manager. At least you will be able to see all the P file system.
