Is it possible to use a 3G simcard in an unlocked P900/P910? I red a news in an mobilecomunication-newspaper about this, but they talked about Nokia. Is it possible to do something with the phone so u can use it with 3G simcard, I mean here in Sweden if you don't have 3G-coverage the phone "drives" on GSM-coverage..

Why post the same thing thing three times?
As far as I know most "3" sims wont work in non "3" phones. I am using a UK Vodafone sim that is on the Vodafone 3G system on my P910i ok (obviously it only uses normal GSM). As far as I know other 3G sims (except "3" Sims) should be fine in an unlocked GSM phone.

It was the SIM card. Because it is a 3G Sim card it posted it three times.

1) i have a branded p900, and i got a new simcard from my provider because my old one was just "looking old, so you'll get a new one".
on the package it said "umts", which means i actually have a 3g card in my phone. i just don't need it since the phone is not 3g.
2) a friend of mine lost his 3g phone (provider is "3") so he put the card into his unlocked nokia backup phone.
didn't work.
i called up "3" and asked them what to do. they say, that if you're in an area with UMTS coverage, you cannot use a umts card in a non-umts phone.
if you move out of the umts coverage area you're using regular GSM.
this switch is also made if you use a umts phone in a non-umts area.
so here he could use his nokia phone with umts card.
so ... chances are, if you're downtown somewhere, you'll not get a signal. out in the country you will.

There is some confusion and I'm not even sure if I get it.
First off all, there is no 3G simcard. All profiders use the same simcard and no difference on GSM (2G) or 3G. It's the hardware of the phone that enables you to use UMTS/3G. The sims of the "3" network are no different, but that do they do? Through your imei they detect that you are using a non 3G phone and blacklist your phone (IMSI, IMEI) on their network.
A little example. If you buy a V800 on Vodafone UK, you can use that sim too in a P910 (or even a T28 if you still have that). If you put a sim of "3" in the P910 it will not work.
