Hi, I'm trying to unlock my V800 with this cable. But when I plug it in the computer nothing happens (computer and phone). When I try and use software it just says 'Turn the phone on'. Have you got any ideas?

I have a V800 which I unlocked tonight using a T28 cable and Totalmultiserver. Most unlocking clients have a button which lets you test the cable without using any credits. If it doesnt like it then the cable is probably wrong.

I think its the computer port, not the cable. Thanks for your help

power on phone = press the on button on the phone to start the flash/unlock process.
Pretty simple huh?

it is quite difficult to test if the cable is a service cable ro data cable. from my experience it is normally the cable. mine has a black box in the middle.

The phone wont respond to it, I'll have to try the cable on a different computer

do you have the drivers for that kind of cable installed.
com ports only work when connected to com to com device
the t28 cable(and v800) is something like com to (usb). i had to install a driver before i got it to work.

I unlocked my V800 using a T28 service cable (no black box) using TMS on saturday without any hassle. If it is a Serial cable then you shouldnt need any drivers as serial is a set interface on your computer that only needs drivers for the actual port on the computer. The cable does not act as serial to USB as it doesnt go through the phones USB port but nthrought the RS232 serial port on the phone.
The problem that you have sounds more as if the it is an incorrect cable or incorrectly setup serial port on the computer.
