Bookmark topic
Update: BigBen 1.40 has been released. Download from
CellPhoneSoft or
My-Symbian.
Our new product,
BigBen, is an enhanced derivative of the popular clock screensaver of FrontView.
BigBen protects your UIQ smartphone from accidental use by locking keys, while displaying a large digital or analog clock. You can even make your phone look and sound like the famous tower clock in London.
Major features:
- Key lock and screensaver work in both flip modes
- Key locking via hotkey and timeout
- Screensaver displays a large clock easily seen from a distance
- Selection of various clock formats
- Visual and sound reminders on missed call and unread SMS
- Hourly chime with selectable sound
- Autostart option
Registered users of FrontView 1.x can use BigBen without registration. Feedback is welcome here or at
support@cellphonesoft.com . Enjoy!

Allways good to have new apps, but I wouldn´t pay $9.95 for it, but as Psiloc screensaver costs $16.25, then BigBen has a possibility to get me as a customer, as it's cheaper than Psiloc screensaver...

Hi
Lisa@CPS,
I tried it out, but the same issues as with all other screen lock application in the market... ie, no way to kill the P900/P910i backlight when locked. Any accidental touches on the screen in flip removed mode will instantly bring up the backlight, wasting precious battery especially when the phone is in the pocket

I understand this issue actually lies on SE, but can you help to ask SE to release at least the backlight control documents so that this issue can be resolved and works exactly the same as P900/P910i built in screen lock? Thanks.
Cheers

Some photo viewers have to option to keep the backlight on while in slideshow, so I think the backlight problem must have already been cracked.

The problem is not to switch on the backlight, but to prevent it from being automatically switched on whenever the screen is touched in flip open mode. So far we can not solve it (SE's secret). A partial solution is to use the virtual flip, in which case at least the upper part of the screen becomes insensitive to touching.

i have experienced a very strange problem. whenever i lock the phone bigben works fine until the phone goes to power safe mode. when the screen turns blank and i touch the screen the app is nowhere?!? if i terminate the power safe mode it does its job but it drains much more the battery... has anyone encountered this behavior too?
besides that - nice app good work very useful for p800 users

Interesting. Any chance missed sms/call indicators could be an option?
I currently use tracker's screen lock so that I can still always see if I've missed any calls etc. I wouldn't really want to have to pick the phone up or tap the screen to see this.
(Ooh, also, If you could do that, you could have a sort of chime that could go off at user-defined intervals to provide an audio alert of missed calls - this feature has been added to the most recent Sman, but uses alarms, which repeat over&over, so it's too intrusive)
