I've got a k700i phone and a DSS-25 deskstand, I've installed the drivers that came with the stand and installed the PC suite cd that came with the phone. Whenever I plug the phone on the stand a green tick on a phone icon pops up on the bottom right of the screen near the clock-so the phone is being recognised by the computer. But when I open the file manager program "my k700i" on the desktop to transfer files to and from the computer and phone I get a "not connected" message. HELP!!! I've been on sony ericsson technical support for months-they can't seem to work out the problem, I've been to the official Sony Central Store and they can't work it out either.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Norton's antivirus to remove firewalls, used different ports to install and reinstall the deskstand, tried to uninstall and reinstall PC suite, downloaded software from the sony ericsson site in case they are new versions. Stacks of people have tried to help and they're all puzzled at why this is the case.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ELSE TO DO HELP!!!

I would suggest uninstalling everything including all software and hardware as well as cleaning up your registry. Make sure you have all your drivers downloaded and then restart your computer. Bow install the PC Suite for the phone and then plug in your DSS-25 and see if the computer detects it. It should and then install all the drivers. I have had this problem before and I tried the uninstall and reinstall which finally got it up and running. Good luck!

@jade8
i have a question... how did you manage to put your k700i to a DSS-25? what did you do to the rubber cover of the k700i? cause i also have a k700i and a DSS-20, but i can't seem to plug the k700i in because of the rubber cover...
please help... thanks!

You just peel off the bottom of the phone, the rubber actually comes off so that you can plug it to the stand and also when you're actually charging the phone.

ah, so you actually removed the rubber cover from the phone... i'm actually planning to remove it, but i think it will look ugly without the rubber cover...

yeah, no need to remove it. I use it fine, just push it back out of the way. Don't remove it, since the K700 port is very exposed to the inside of the phone (this is why it has a cover).
It's paradoxical, since I think the reason the cover was put there was to keep the contacts clean and help the stereo audio quality, but the way they have incorporated the rubber actually leaves the inside of the phone exposed if the rubber is not covering the contacts..
Bad design, fixed with the fast port by removing the need to keep the contacts so well protected.

mine doesn't fit properly either. I think they expand from being always pulled and stretched. It's happened on every K700 I know of.
