I've read the numerous post regarding using your t39 or t68 as a modem to access the internet, but I'm still somewhat confused. I want to use my t39mc as a modem and connect it to my laptop, via infrared, to access the internet. I have an account with a dial up internet service provider (Sprint) and my cell phone service provider is Microcell. So can I just use my t39 as modem and dial to my internet service provider (Sprint) to connect to the internet? Or do I have to subscribe to GPRS from Microcell first? I've tried this before but the t39 would just dial to Sprint and hangup right away.

if you wish to access your ISP service from your phone, you need to subscribe to your phone service provider's CSD or GSM data.

otherwise, you wont be able to make a connection.

With GPRS, you dont need an ISP, your SP is also your ISP.

@gowin

Is there a way I can use my GPRS connection in Globe to connect my HP Jornada to the internet via IR ? Looked at Microsoft's site and the configuration says that I have to "DIAL-IN" into the GPRS service.

Just in case you know about this ?
