say this in a hifi mag not seen much in the press etc, i know theres a few owners on here so thought i let you know the details
sony is recalling the above unit due to internal power problems and playback functions
problem models in uk have the following serial numbers-500001 to 521790
european models affected 600001 to 611595
sony are offering a free repair service and the number to phone (uk only ) is 08705 111 999
