Just wish to ask whether Mp3 songs can be compressed to become smaller in size without compromising on the quality (kbps) of the song. Is there any free mp3 compressor out there? I'm using a K500i, space is very limited only 12MB shared memory.

Convert it to AAC and you'll get about a half of file size in same bit rate as mp3 file. However, AAC cannot be used as ringtone, so for ringtone you should cut the mp3 files using software such as mp3DirectCut.

@ jimmychoo
Try to use VBR for your MP3 if not already. That might help without compromising on the actual quality (if you keep the same max bitrate).

Sorry to bother.. but i've a problem here. some of the mp3 songs i manage to compress them fully (i mean the whole song). But some of them i only manage to compress half the song (only half the size of the entire song)! i'm using dietmp3 for compression. why does this happen???
