hey people

i just came accross this software
http://www.skymetric.com/
motion cam
it seems to be able to pick up motion and take pictures. (ive only got trial verion so it only beeps.) but does that mean java software is able to take pictures but not make that annoying shutter sound?

does anyone know or can write a java software that can take pictures without shutter sound?

cheers!

(i made this same post on http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?p=5432005#post5432005 for reference)

it can probably be done, but the k700i java file system cannot access the phones file system, so pictures taken may not end up in the pictures folder. If that is the case the java app would need an smtp server to send the picture via gprs...

Personally, I don't mind that shutter sound, but can't u just leave ure fone on silent? Otherwise, it might be possible with a firmware update. I remember reading something about getting rid of the sound on another part of the forum.

Putting the phone on silent doesn't work (apart from on an occassional handset apparently)

You can have the firmware edited to change or remove the sound but remember this effectively voids warranty.
Should u be interested in getting this done email repairs@se-nse.com with enquiries

i beleive the EU_3 firmware destined for UK and Denmark (which require sound when taking pictures with a mobile, even on silent) as well as the hongkong firmware; you cannot change it and it will sound always.

my EMEA_6 firmware does not and i think EU_1 also does not.
