Hi, new user here. Was wondering if someone had been through similar.

Had S700i for 5 months on O2 Online. As of last week the LCD panel went (through leaving in back pocket). After a lot of wrangling with O2 they have agreed to replace it under my "Insure Gold" policy but are saying the phone has been discontinued. As under the t&c of the insurance, they can offer me a phone of "similar specification" but the choice they have given me I would say falls short of that (Siemens S65, Nokia 3230, 6670 and Samsung D500). I feel aggrieved as these are pretty much all phones I could have got for free when I took out my contract (rather than paid £80 as I did) and don't match up to the spec of the S700i. I asked for a K750i but they have basically told me to swivel...

I was wondering if anyone had encountered similar with O2 and got anywhere. I'm pretty much in the position of accepting the D500 or go through the complaints procedure which could go on for ages with no guarantees... Grateful for any advice.

Cheers

I had a samsung e800 and I claimed of the insurence and received the phone the next working day, however i have a k750 now after waiting nearly 1 month for delivery, im thinkin there are resisiting giving you a k750 because there is none in stock and it is in such high demand, plus there not making any money from your claim and theres new contract customers and upgrade customer still waiting weeks to get there k750i however this is only my opinion. If i lost my phone and tried to claim off insurence i doupt i would get the k750i replaced anytime soon till there stock replenish.

The K750i would be my ideal replacement but i can understand if they won't offer me one particular model for whatever reason. However, as far as i'm concerned none of the phones offered compared to the S700, but don't see if theres much i can do about the situation to be honest. Just wondered if anyone had had the same issue with O2.

call them back. if my experience is anything to go by with o2 one person will tell you one thing and someone else another so i just keep ringing back till i hear the answer i want!!! i think you have a good arguement if they still refuse to budge. stay polite and put accross your arguement just like you have in this post. i would try and get the k750i just keep pestering them. If they simply wont agree ask for D500 + few months free line rental or including a free bluetooth headset if you fancy one. just keep trying. if all else fails threaten to leave as o2 are desperate to keep customers at the moment.
