I called Orange a while ago about my K750 occasionally freezing and they advised me to take it back to the shop for a replacement.
I phoned ahead to find out if they had any in stock and was advised to call 150 again and get them to run a diagnostic to save them doing it in the shop.
After getting a diagnostic run I was again advised to take it back for a replacement.
This time when I phoned the shop they said that I needed a fault code before they could replace the phone and told me to call 150 again to save time.

I've just got off the phone with the handset fault department who have now advised me that the phone randomly locking up is not a fault but that it was "designed this way by the manufacturer"! This means that, since the system tells them there's no fault, they can't replace my phone.

Has anyone else received this response from Orange?

complain, you are within your statutory rights rights. if a product doesnt work then shouldn it be covered by warrenty?

Tech support are usually rubbish, they get paid to read out a book

That is stupid. I would phone again and talk to someone else. Locking up is not a feature but a fault.
If any goods sold in the UK are not fit for the purpose that they were desighned for (in this case, making a phone call, taking a photo etc..) then you are entitled to a replacement or repair free of charge.

Speak to Orange cutsomer services again and get them to replace it or get them to speak to the store.

You could always upgrade the firmware with Davinci which will unbrand the phone giving you the original Sony Ericsson icons and sort out the crashing. Make sure you get the right settings available in threads on Esato.

Thats a load of Rubbish. Speak to Customer care, or infact write a letter and email them.

I would however advise you to download to the latest firmware and then do a master reset.

R1a software on the phone is prone to freezing.

Hope this helps

I have a couple of problems with my Orange K750i, which don't appear on any of the shop-demo-phones...

But because I got it through Orange direct, I have to deal with CS and Tech Support, and it takes them WEEKS to get back to me each time! I can make calls and texts on my phone, so I don't mind waiting that much, but it's about time they issue me a replacement...
