> P910i or i-mate Jam ?
Bookmark topic
Hi Guys,
I have a p800 but I need to upgrade. Has anyone here have experience with both phones P910i or i-mate Jam ?
I think I prefer the outlook from what i have read on the i-mate as I do need emails on the go, but what worried me is that there is no keypad on that phone to make phone calls quickly. You see when I tried to use my p800 to make phone calls (without the flip on) it was very difficult and you need the stylus for that which was time consuming and you could not make phone calls on the p800 with one hand without the flip.
Please help with advice if you can.
Thanks
Doz

what a coincidence  i had precisely the same question in mind this afternoon when i embarked on my mission to upgrade from my p900..And i was looking at the Jam and the p910...After careful consderation and weighing both options..i got myself the p910...and im very pleased with it..of course the jam has its plus points like faster processor, outlook, inbuilt msn, pocket ie etc...i found the p910 much more user friendly for someone who has become so used to the UIQ interface...i wish Pro duos were cheaper though

I currently have both the P910i and Imate PDA2k. The Imate honest to goodness is a badass machine. It is much easier to use then our UIQ device. I am so used to the p910 so I can tell you that I would still prefer the uiq vs the pda2k....BUT just marginally. The wifi and ease of use for pix/gifs/wmv files/outlook is awesome.

Oh yeah I agree. I like the fact I can modify my p910 to my exact liking and I actually find it fun to dig for programs. But for someone like my girlfriend that like things simplistic this imate is wonderful.

It actually depends on what are your needs. I have both the P910i and Xda II Mini (I-Mate Jam). I like the P910i because it has keypads and sometimes all you need is a phone to dial a number, which is a bit troublesome when using the Jam. Almost every operation on the Jam requires the stylus, whereas the P910i can do a lot of functions single handedly, and the Jog Dial is really a nice feature to have on Smartphones.
So, choose one depending on your needs. If I were to choose ONLY ONE, my money would be spent on the P910i, for overall ease of use.

i use my fingers to txt, its easy espeacially i have a basketball player size hands lol

so you will find it fine, go for it, its really cool its compatible with mp3 wma and 3gp and more, you dont have to worry about converting files like the p series owners do.

but how much harder is it to make simple phone calls on the I-mate ??? im very used to the simple dial a number on a proper keypad. although the extra features make the imate a good choice for me.

it can be a little unnerving to press the virtual buttons on the screen and get no feedback as you would a normal button but we're all very adaptable and you soon get used to it. alternatively just dial using the stylus but that can be inconvenient sometimes
