> Crazy Weird Icon~ K750i
Bookmark topic
I've had my k750 for a few days now and am loving the gorgeous thing... Anyway today I connected it to my ibook at work here to see if I could transfer over some mp3's through the usb cable. After the transfer was successful, I was browsing in file manager>sounds and see these 2 weird icons above my usual regular sound files. It's a blue diamond with the memory stick icon on the right of it (no text). I tried deleting these but nothing ever happens after I press yes. When I go to information it says file type: DS_store ???! any ideas? I am anal I know but why the icons? and how can I get rid of them?

i *think* that those are files that the k750 does not recognise! i tried transferring something recently and it didn't recognise the file and put a blue diamond thing next to the filename!

Indeed the "blue diamond" seems to be the default icon for unknown file types.. i got it too when i sent some message alert from a Nokia 9500. However it was no problem simply deleting the files.

i deleted mine somehow using the right-key and clicking "delete". if i couldn't that, i must have gone into my phone through the usb cable and deleted the file from there!

see that's the weird thing there is no file or name attached to these DS_store (file type) things... anyway I'll probably end up going home and using the usb cable through my pc laptop and delete them if at all possible? if not maybe a master reset?

You're using a Mac right? DS_store etc crap is stuff the Mac associates with files stored on it, it's usually hidden from view but can be seen when viewed on a non Mac or if you enable show hidden files.
You need a program that transfer the files "cleanly" there are a few of those around, search this forum or via google for it.

ah, thanks riffola! hopefully I'll be to clean these up when I get home to my windows based OS.
edit: alright guys I came home and was able to delete all the DS_store files that had woven themselves all through the phone.... lesson learned, never connect to a mac
