I need some help from all of you.
Could any of you answer me this question?
Do you think DoCoMo's I-mode service success can be replicated in other countries? Why or why not

I think it will take a bit of time for it to be a hit. This is always the case in European countries. Japnese people are very into technology and try out every new thing and i-mode over is so sucessful because its been around for a while.
All in all I think it will take time for it to gel with users once its been launched. It will be hit (thats for sure) but again it will take time for people to get used to it.
Thats my verdict.
By the way why have you named the topic HELP HELP.

I-Mode has been publicised much better (they didn't have "Surf the BT Internet" killing the product before it had a chance, and it's GPRS based so that helps loads).
I-Mode is also the property of Do Co Mo so they can modify the standard as and when they like, in Japan the operators have strong ties with phone manufacturers and can produce phones according to the specification the operator wants (these phones are used in Japan and nowhere else)!
Taking I-Mode to other counteries is difficult, the hardware is in short supply compared to WAP phones (also the wonderful phones available in Japan will not be available here, especially as they are focusing on W-CDMA and conversion to GSM is not seen as mass-market for return on investment).
The applications that already exist for I-Mode are taylored to the Japanese market (and language)! Also, there is no reason why the I-Mode applications cannot be converted to work on WAP over GPRS.
Let's see how 3G takes off, if it's slow to take off elsewhere and WAP over GPRS (which let's face it will be the platform for all the new applications in the next few years) starts bringing in the data revenues that the operators are hoping for - when 3G does come to the rest of the world, it will likely to be on WAP.
