I'm trying to update my unlocked K750i using Davinci, but the software can never read my phone when i press the 'C' Key, and plug in my phone. I have installed all the drivers,(or I think I have, but they may not work, as I already installed SE drivers). The instructions on their website don't help at all. This happened last time to my K500i. Please help me.

Turn off the phone.
Hold "C" button and plug USB cable.

I've got that exact same problem pverri99.

I found that the USB FLASH device appears in the device manager for a few seconds then disappears when the phone is plugged in (off with 'c' held down).

I think this is a problem with the phone since I never had this problem before, but after I had my phone unlocked (in Malaysia) the phone came back unlocked but with R1J APAC_1 instead of the R1J EU_2 I had earlier... never trust dodgy shops!!!!

So are you able to update using the SEUS?

This would be a good indication that the drivers are working correctly.

Like I said before. All I get is a white screen in the web page even after installing the update utility. This is why I hate JAVA just about as much as I hate PDFs.

Any other help anyone?

Hey,

When I use the SE Update Site it says something like there isn't an update for my phone. Its with vodafone and I don't think they have allowed the use of the update service yet. This would indicate the phone is working, otherwise the update software wouldnt have been able to know it was a vodafone...

Hmmm,

I tried the SEUS again last night and it appears vodafone have allowed the use of it now.

However I am getting an 'error in communication' message followed by 'Remove and reinsert the battery'... After this the update will still fail...

Hi nizam.tg, I know what u mean about dodgy shops, or sites. I bought what I thought was a English K750i on the web. When I got it I found it was a French handset. Thats why I was trying to flash it using davinci. I finally got it to work, using the SE drivers from their site.

Glad to know someone finally had some luck. could you tell me exactly what you did to get it working? I tried using IE for SEUS but I keep getting a blank white page even after downloading/installing the update client. AARGH!

What browser and what conditions did you do the update? Any onscreen messages?

sorry for confusion nizam.tg. I flashed my K750i using the davinci server not the SEUS as that never seems to work. With regards to the blank screen, make sure you have JAVA installed on your system. When I emailed SE they said it would only work with the latest version. I have the second to last version, and it works. Also it might depend on your computer. I can get the SEUS to work on my desktop PC but not on my laptop, Strange!
