> Reducing MP3 size

I've seen on some websites full MP3 tracks at only 1.3mb each
I have some albums on MP3 but all the songs on there are 5.6mb + in size.
What's the easiest way to reduce them in size so they'll fit on my K750?
I have wavepad but not sure how to use it.

Winrar ? but thats for file compression, not making music tracks smaller.
To make them smaller its inevitable you'll need to lower the quality of the music track. You can do this in any auido encoder, such as dbpoweramp.

yup, i use dbpoweramp. I encode them to an ok quality of 80kb/s or watever. thet reduced the file size to about 2MB

Usually, mp3's have some blank space at the begining, and at the end. That means no sound for a few seconds before the mp3 starts playing, and no sound for a few seconds after the song finishes. First thing you have to do, is cut that blank space out. The easiest way to do that is download mp3DirectCut. Google it. It's freeware. That will reduce the size considerably.
What will really make a difference though, is the conversion of the mp3 file, to mp4. No quality loss, HALF the size of the mp3!!! To convert the mp3 to mp4, download Nero burning rom, open Nero Burning ROM (NOT nero express), go to "Extras" and "Encode Files" (F8)
Add files, and press "GO"
This is it, i used to have a ton of mp4 songs on my k700i, but i couldn't use them as ringtones, or alarm sounds. A problem i don't have with my new k750i.

Use Acoustica MP3 Audio Mixer, cos you can reduce the quality and cut unnecessary bits out. It's not freeware, but the demo does exactly the same stuff as the full version.
