Dear Esato friends
I have been using Ericsson/Sony Ericsson for the last 8 years. But I have come to a point, where it is time to change. The company was producing the best and most innovative phones all over the market and they still do. And I always felt right to support the smaller company in this market, where Nokia is still playing the biggest role.
I was very happy with the first announcement of the K750. And wanted one , but without any branding. And that's where SE seems to have a philosophy which is against all SE Fans. Since the begining of June it is possible in Switzerland the get Vodafone K750i or an Orange one, both with heavy brandings. A branding free one? Impossible! It must be their strategy to roll out first the phones for the operators and obviously they must have conctracts with them. So they keep back phones with their own software. So if I want a K750i, I have no choice must go for a branded one. Is Nokia doing that?
The same now with the K600. The V600 just came out today, but where is the K600?
SE is playing with us! We are their most loyal customers and what do we get?
However I sold my O2 branded K750i (had to go to Germany to buy one) yesterday and went straight to a shop here in Zürich to buy a Nokia 6230i. Unbelievable I am using a Nokia now, but SE forced me to do so..... after all these years.
Its time to say goodbye and thanks to Esato for this wonderful forum.
Flateric out...

It is more down to the networks and retailers than SE themselves. If the networks and retailers dont want to sell unbranded and unlocked handsets than SE cant make them.
Its not just SE that this is happening to. All manufacturers are the same. The Nokia 6680 is nearly impossible to get unbranded (here in the UK anyway). Vodafone brand theirs, so do 3 , O2 and Orange.
In the future handsets will be made by the main companies like SE and Nokia but will all be branded for the networks.
The networks do it so you only use them and not another network on a phone that they have subsidised.
Just because you dont have an SE phone anymore doesnt mean you have to leave Esato. All mobile users are welcome here.

I don't like the design of Nokias, the menus, or the lack of B/T on many of thier phones. I do like thier Carkits though.
Back on topic:
Yes I think SE are playing with us.

K750i still not available in NZ through official channels, but available through importers at 12.5% below RRP. Perhaps VodafoneNZ branding is holding up the show?
