Folks,

I've owned a p800 for ages. I recently bought a p910i.

The p910i seems very sluggish compared to the p800.

Once the app is running it seems OK, but doing things like creating a new SMS; starting a new application etc, all seem to take quite a few seconds before anything happens.

Have you folks noticed this?

Is there something I can do to speed it back up again?

I've tried switching to a new cut-down theme.
I've tried de-fragging my 128MB duo card.
I kill off unnecessary running tasks.

What else can I try?

Thanks!

because a P910 is like 'hybernating' tasks which are not used for a while, thus it delays the startup of them when you open them again.

This is done to preserve battery...

nothing you can do really...

hi gyre, just want to ask how did you de-frag you memory stick due? DO you just pop it in to the memory card reader and de-frag it on a pc?

Graphite?

Yup. I have an el-cheapo USB memory card reader that I bought from ebuyer some time back.

I plugged the MS-duo into the MS adaptor that came with it, then plugged that into the reader, then the reader into the PC where it is seen as a FAT-formatted removable device.

ah ha. thank you. I will try it tonight.

Regarding to your question, I have never own a P-800 before, thus there is no comparison. But I have owned T68i, T637 and P910, I would say P910 is a lot faster than T68i but abit slower than T637. Generally speaking, the speed is acceptable to me.

My experience is that P910i is a little bit slower than P900...

The task launching seems to be really sluggish indeed.
