Hello,
I'm looking for purchasing a spare battery for my P910 on ebay. One question, how can i tell if the battery is from Sony Ericsson besides looking at the price? I do not want to buy the fake ones for under GBP5 cuz I don't want to jepadize my phone for a cheap battery.
For risk free transaction, do you think I should just go to Sony Store to purchase it? How much does one usually cost?

I bought two of the cheapo Hong Kong ones (they came with an extra charging station as well). The only difference I see is that they appear to have a slightly lower capacity than the one that came with my phone. No smoke ever came out of my phone.
One thing: if I switch between the original and the cheapo batteries, the battery level software needs a few seconds to adapt. That, I can live with.

my concern about the cheapo battery is about the protection circuit.
How the battery works (correct me if i'm wrong) if the voltage drops below certain point, the battery will start heating up. That's when the protection circuit kicks in to cut the power.
Couple nokia phone blow up incidents were caused by the cheapo battery without protection circuit.

I've had one of the cheap ones run flat on me. Nothing blew up -- at least my phone didn't.
In any case, when buying on eBay, feedback is your friend.

Just check the pics of the battery mate, if it comes with full SE Branding and holograms then it's usually authentic. And also the packaging it comes with, but some people sell batteries by themselves with no packaging, this doesn't mean they are fakes!
