> Using k750i in the United States?

I noticed that a lot of you lucky k750i owners are in the UK/Europe.
I'm thinking of buying the k750i, and I'm in the U.S. I'm using T-Mobile as my carrier.
If I buy it off of ebay (which I assume is an unbranded k750), will I be able to just put my SIM card in the phone and it should work?

that's what i'm doing! works great! only problem you'll encounter is you won't be able to use the t-zones portal. all other WAP/XHTML sites will work, just not t-mobile's portal.

Ha, I live the States as well and I have the k750i. I currently have T-mobile and i just plugged my sim card into the k750i and it works perfectly! Only thing you have to do is go to the sonyericsson support page and set up your wap and mms setting which will be sent and intalled on your phone, very easy!! The phone works perfectly. I got my brand new unlocked k750i at mobilebee.com....shipping is included so its a fairly good deal (thats how they nail you on ebay sometimes). It shipped right away, and came perfect, very reliable company...but anywhere you choose to buy it, your gonna get a great phone:)

Got my K750i, and put my SIM in it, and it worked right away. I remember I was sitting at a restaurant with my uncle and family and they were like "well make sure it works" so I put my SIM in it, and i turned it on, and then it rang and i was like "seems like it works.."

It worked great on T-Mobile here in NYC, until the earpiece died. Now it's sitting at SE's service center in NC, waiting on parts. Two weeks gone by and they still have not received the parts.
So if your phone dies, sending it to the SE USA service center to get it fixed will take forever.

Cingular has been converting mostly to 850 to utelize both 850 and 1900 in most segments. Take a look at this below. It provideds clarity as to why a K750 would not work on Cingular's network.

I am with Cingular and I have been using the 1900 MHZ frequency for almost a year. I live in MA and I have not had any major problems using my K700i or K750i. But I certainly agree with the post on howard forums that using a non 850 MHz phone on the Cingular network could be an issue. I am waiting on my contract to expire so that I can switch to T-Mobile and I hope T-Mobile doesnt get sold out to another network.
