slashphone

When trying to extend mobile phone battery life, Mitsubishi has actually attached a solar panel on its music phone "Music Porter". A prototype is completed and it is able to fully charge the battery with just the sun light.

axxxr has found yet more info again!!

This technology could set the new standard if it can ever be as efficient as a steady stream of electricity.

And the problem at the moment its too early for this kind of technology and isn't quite perfected yet...According to the article:

Quote:If you are using just the sun light, it will take a few days to fully charge the battery. This might not be a good idea to expose your mobile phone under the hot sun for too long.

The design did extend the battery life when you use it outdoor. Mitsubishi will continue the development and improve the efficiency of the solar panel to generate more power.

Mmm, i suppose it wouldn't be much good to for the phone to leave it in the sun for a few days anyway

From an emergency point of view though, if your phone runs out of battery power then it could charge a little, maybe enoug for an emergency call (not so good at night though!!)

Lets just see where techniology takes us, i'm looking forward to reading more on this subject as i charge my phone so often it would save me lots of money & resources each year.
