I found a Car Kit I'd forgotten I had.
Brand new! (I'll blame it on age...

)
My question is; Will this work with my Z800?
I know the phone holder it self is useless but that can be changed?

I use a HCA-10 with a HCH-40 car holder for my V800. I do have a problem as the phone will recognise that it is in a carkit and it will charge but I cant get any sound through the car kit itself. It used to work fine with my P910i.

So it's worth the hazzle of fitting it?

There could be something wrong with my phone that wont let it work. It should be fine.

My guess is that the HCA-10 uses different software and is therefore not compatible with the V800. This wont prevent it charging though, that's a pretty simple function.
Tell me, the connector on the Control Box where you plug in the System Cable, does it have 10 pins or 12?

No you cant. There is a new kit out very soon for the K750i.
@carkitter
I have tried the V800 with both the HCA10 and HCA20 with the same problem on both which makes me think it is my phone at fault.

@arthur
JC's right, You'll need upgrade to a HCA-60 because of the new connectors on the K750i.
Or upgrade to the HCB-300/HCB-700 Bluetooth Carkits.
@JC
You could be right there, since my last post, I've searched around and found anecdotal evidence that the K700 will work with the HCA-10 which I wouldn't have thought possible... Maybe V800/ Z800 will work?
@tranquil
Try benchtesting the carkit. You only need to connect to a 12V car battery and plug everything in to test. Be aware that you may get some feedback if the mic and speaker are too close together.

The HCA 10 certainly worked with my S700i so I would have thought the V800 would be the same.

I'm getting the exact same problem as JC - The sound from my V800 just doesn't seem to be passing through the HCA-10 to the speaker. Looking like an upgrade to the car kit is on the cards...
