Do you mean the PC just doesn't recognise the Duo?
Also by adapter do u mean on the PC or the MemoryStick adapter that comes with the Duo?

yeah my pc doesnt read the stick neither does my phone. I read the sony site that that memory stick has compatibility issues with the Memory Stick PC Card Adaptor. i tried putting in the slot of a printer and another computer that had a slot for it and nothing read it.

The 128mb msd is most likely not a pro. The regular ones go up to 128mb. any higher ones are usually duo pros.

no its not a pro, just the duo. the usb drive for the adapter disappears from the pc when i insert the memory stick in it. So its probably fried? that sucks. thanks for all the help

Hi Yosjsu : Hope its a Sony MSD (with Magic Gate). If your phone too cant detect it, there could be an issue with The Duo.
Unlikely that you 'fry' a component unless eratic power or hot swap a device.
Are you on a MicroSoft OS (windows

) ?
Please chk the adaptr on sum other pc.
I too have the same phone (S700 actually) and transfer files to comp over plain BT dongle. Win98SE can handle it. Thou be forewarned, the damn thing may jam the system. Always instal it after display & soundcard drivers.

MikLSP: yeah i used the software that came with the phone to try and format, but it wouldnt read it so i couldnt do it that way, i tried putting it in the phone and it wouldnt detect it either. Is there an option on the phone that lets u format it?
sailaab: yes it is a sony msd with magic gate, i have windows xp and tried on 2 different pcs, but both have xp, one just had the port on the pc tower. a BT dongle just makes my computer BT accessible right? how fast does it send?
