I really don't like having 3 keys that open the main menu (the right softkey, joystick press and using the new shortcut button).

I was quite happy with functions list opening when I was pressing the right softkey on my K700. Can I assign something else to the right softkey? I didn't see a similar topic, can you show me the way?

Unfortunately I'm quite sure it's fixed into opening the menu or for branded phones, for opening the operator's site (on my old branded firmware the right softkey was linked to the network's homepage). I do recall reading in an interview between Elzar (of mobile-review.com) and one of the Sony Ericsson engineers that they (SE) realised the redundancy and were going to change the key's function before its release, but obviously that hasn't happened yet - perhaps in a later firmware.

I switched to a W800 and the menu shortcuts are better. I hope they will make some changes on later K750 firmwares. Thanks for the reply.

I was going to ask this question as well.

I have a unbranded K750i. I search hard through the menu's to see if this could be done.. I didnt find anything tho

I know i could do this on an old Siemens phone i had many many years ago.

Would be good if they did allow it in future FW updates

I'm not sure if this will work for you, but I found the menu here : menu >> general >> shortcuts.

My phone isn't branded though, there's no standard action connected to my 'joystick right'

maybe the next models will introduce the right softkey as the camera shortcut since they no longer make those camera shutters from K750i, which i think majority of SE users love it... and i think SE will be thinking of other means of returning that in the form of the right softkey...

i for one would strongly suggest that.... tho it follows the NOKIA setup.. wot da heck..

@isandro

I think what everyone here is on about it the button above the [c]
What you have indicated only does the Joystick Menu Options.

If it was gonna be anywhere it would be there but alas SE leave us always wanting just that little more.. lol
