> Tecom USB bluetooth adapter - range?

Has anyone got this one
It says it has a range up to 100m
What are people's experience with range, particularly using this Tecom adapter.
Thanks
Seb

Haven't really experimented with the 100m range, but i have noticed that the link is a bit patchy when it isn't in a clear line of sight. It still works but the signal strength fluctuates a lot.

Its only when connecting to another BT device which has 100m range (class 1 device), that you actually get this, ie. two Tecom's together, not when connecting to ie. a phone.
No personal experience though, sorry.

i have the tecom usb bluetooth adaptor and T68i. The Signal does work well up to about 10 metres, but not through walls, floors etc.
The main problem is the inablity of the software to recieve files that arn't synchonisation types (vCard, vCal, vNote etc.)
Otherwise it is a good device and not too expensive.
I think the 10 metres is enough though. Basically the phne can be anywhere in the same room, in a briefcase or bag etc.
If the 100 metres is true i'm tempted to get another one. As i can't get wifi to work very well in my house either, but that is only rated at about 30m.

I read in another post here, that many BT devices work up to 100m, but in this case it's the t68 that limitates to 10m due to power consumption. But to most uses that's good enough.

The official words are:
Bluetooth Class 1: 100m (100mW), Class 3: 10m (1mW).
Class 2 (2.5mW) is sometimes seen as 15m, sometimes as 10m.
By logic it would be 15m, as it has 2.5 times higher power than class 3 (sqrt(2.5) ~= 1.5).
Anyway, I read that if 10 meters are accurate indoors, 40 meters might be a more reasonable indoor estimate for a class 1 device, like the tecom, acording to some indoor propagation model. Simple physics (which would apply well in open space, or over open water) says 100m.
Still no experience (I should get a MSI in a week. It is class 1 as well

)
