It's a lot less noticeable once you change the color of your keypad through the use of some colored translucent material underneath it to affect the led lighting. Here's how my k700 looks now:

Thanks, man! Glad you liked it. I was really bummed out by the girly pink/violet hue my keypad had, I found esato looking for a solution to this problem precisely. At first I used a piece of a plastic bag that was too dark, and it ended looking more deep purple than dark blue. Later on I found a more intense but lighter blue bag, and cut new strips from it to cover the led lights, that's how I got this blue which to me is perfect. This is my original post on this subject, along with the cover removal pictures link I used: K700 BLUE KEYPAD

i plan to do this once i have the right colour bag, orange is what i want.

i removed the 8 black blobs on the keypad covering the LEDs, so my keypad is already much brighter.

any idea on which orange bag i should use and where to find it?

thanks.

That depends a lot on where you live, but Orange (the telco operator) is a great start, or any of their retailers. A friend of mine used a lollipop wrapper for his red, and got much brighter results than me. Also, the plastic folders with the binding white sliding clip are a great option AND they come in many colors. Remember you don't really need a bag of the color, just a graphic about 2x2 inches of the color you want. My current color strips, for example, belong to the logo graphic of a Scott toilette paper wrapping plastic, which I cut off to make the two strips. So look around in any supermarket, any product that has an area larger than 2x2 of the exact color you want will do, just try to pick a product that's cheap, and that you will really use so you don't waste any money to get your results

i tried on my t630 with accetate, and it was too thick, the keys would not press down through it, i think the k700i will be easier as there is slightly more give on the keys, but i will keep a look out.
