I suggest you scale the size of the picture down. the T68i screen size is 101x80.
The phone will scale down larger pictures to fit the screen (within reason, the size of your large JPEGs are probably too big to even fit in the phone's available memory), but it's more economical to scale it to fit the phone. Also note that the phone only has a 256 colour palette, so test it out - you may want to 'enhance' the picture for your phone.
