Got ipod with some songs on it, i want to add few more songs from my computer without automatically updating the rest as i hav also lost a few off my pc, how do i do it, as won't it update as soon as i plug it in

On Itunes, you can select to auto fill or manual. So set it to manual, and you can put whatever you like on then.

or once you plug it in, quickly try to access it as a drive (show hidden folders)
and take that song out and put it on your pc.
