If you're using a Mac, then its just a case of installing a few HID files (from www.salling.com > Free Stuff) on the phone, selecting the one for the app you want to control, and that's it. The phone connects to the Mac and a screen appears on the phone with buttons to press for various controls for the application you're controlling. It's great for iTunes and PowerPoint etc.

Salling Clicker v3.0 will be even better though... allows browsing and creating playlists, searching for songs, artists and albums from the phone etc.

Unfortunately I know next to nothing about Windows PCs, so I can't help you with that - but from other people's posts on Esato Bluetooth remote controls seem to be a little trickier to get working under Windows...

It appears some users have problems getting the HID Bluetooth profile working correctly with the drivers for their bluetooth dongle...

The windows XP bluetooth drivers are unfourtunately pretty crap, so your best off using the WIDCOMM ones.

Here is a good guide to installing those drivers.

Once that is set up, you should be able to use the remote control app to remotely control your PC from your phone. There are a few in-built HID profiles for general desktop, powerpoint etc. on the phone, but if you wanna really get going check out this program which you can use to make your own HID profiles.

Hope this helps.
