My Sandisk 1 GB MS duo card seemed all fine with my P910a (each of them r only 2 days old).

Today i was coping some mp3s via the cradle, and suddenly there was an error (some code was given). Now my P910 cant read the MS anymore, it says memory corrupt!! What must i do???

Hi,

Did you format the card the first time you used the card? If not, this is your problem. If you did, format the card again and retry.

Cheers

THX for ur reply dan,

Now, thing is, i used the Memory Stick Duo with my friends digi cam (sony cs5.1mp), and then put it in the P910a. I viewed a couple of pics i took (takes an awful lot of time to load 5mp pics don they??) on my set. There were no problems till then.

After that i connected my set with the cradle and started coping some Mp3s to the MS. It didn copy at all, gave some unknown error.

I took out the card and re-inserted it, and now it says corrupted drive. I have tried formatting it from my set's control panel, but no luck, it says "corrupted drive".

Furthermore, my card-reader has no support for Memory sticks, neither do i own any other MS compatible devices. As i said , i bought it 2 days back, and am very angry wit what has happened.

Plz help me out, thanks to all,

Thats definitely the problem mate,

You can view the photos, but because its been formatted to work on the camera and not the P910, thats why its causing conflicts. You will have to format the card to work in the P910.

What i suggest you do is:

Put the card back into the camera. If that works again, its not too bad. If it says its corrupt, you have just lost a lot of photos!

Anyway, if the card does work in the camera, back the photos up onto your PC. Then put the card into the p910 and format the card. Then you can upload the photos from the PC to the card and whatever other stuff you want to upload!

Hopefully this solves your problem dude!

Cheers

thanks dan, thx a million for ur help

THing is, the camera is not mine n i need to get my friend for it.

And the pictures r not important to me, it doesnt matter if i lose them. I just want the MS working properly, thats all.

IF the camera says the card is corrupt, then what do i do?? It ud surely the card is dead, right??

thx again

No the card is not dead,

If you dont mind losing the photos, find a mate who has a memory card reader. Install it onto your PC. Right click on the drive(it will show up as a hard drive in windows explorer) click format and ok, takes around 10-30 seconds. Insert the card into the P910 and your flying!

I think you can format the card via the standard file browser in control panel.

Select File>Format Disk and I beleive its the D drive.

Formatting a memory stick on a PC makes the card not work on a SE phone as the phone needs the card to be formatted to FAT16 file system but the PC will format the card with FAT32.
