Is it correct that o2 or o2 on line, here in the UK do NOT support Instant messesging for Pay as you go customers...?
My daughter has a o2 PAYG on line sim card she uses with a P900 with full GPRS connection, works well for browsing the net, but will NOT connect to several of the IM packages 'agilemessenger or a few MSN IM other software' O2 customer services state they do not support it!! they also say they do not support Pop email on PAYG.. They did say however that few people have managed to use IM somehow despite it not being supported?
Any one with a PAYG o2 online sim use IM MSN?
I have a P910 contract phone which as we know works with IM without any problem.
Any help would be appreciated...

Yes you're right it's not full GPRS with PAYG yet it's ok for normal browsing... is there no way you can use IM with PAYG o2?

Whats the difference in the 2 GPRS's then for contract and PAYG? I used Agile messenger on my P900 with PAYG and managed to get it to work ok.

That's interesting....... not sure what the difference is. I'm told by O2 that with PAYG is not full GPRS!? nor do they support IM with PAYG.. What phone network are you using, and do you connect to MSN IM? Does it work with any other network..?

agile messenger and others of the type will work on orange pay and go sim. it used to work with o2 till about a year ago.
the reasons is the pay and go sims dont allow you to save cookies on html, hence you cant log in etc. you can dtill use opera for intertnet access using the proxy settings but you still wont be able to log in.
as far as pop3 goes you can use dial up.

Im using O2 PAYG on my P905. Yes I have managed to connect to MSN and Yahoo messenger on the phone. I havent got it running now as it was driving me mad using the styli. think ill wait till i get the BT keyboard and re-install it.
