Hi!

I disassembled my P800 (I wanted to paint it black).
After reassembling again everything is working except the jog dial. The phone doesn't responds when I press it UP or DOWN, but it works when I press it inwards, forward or backrward. I disassambled again, I tought maybe some connection problem, but still the same problem occures.

What could be wrong?
Where could I find some detailed description of the p800's jog dial? (I'm thinking about disassembling that small piece also... but I'm afraid a bit).
Any idea is welcome (I really miss the jog dial, since sometimes I use the phone with one hand, but now that's impossible)

Thanks in advance!

If by Push up/ down you mean scroll.

Then its probably that little green peice with the metal in it that isnt in place.

if it is damaged it isn't the end of the world. I remember seeing P800 jog dials for sale in a number of online stores.

You have to be really careful and meticulous when taking these phones apart or weird things start happening.

Hi!

I cannot find any green piece
Here are some pictures of the jog dial... is something (obvious) is missing?

I also tried shortcircuiting the 6 conenctors (near the jogdial, not at the end of the cable... that was too small)
and checked what happens. But I just found two pairs which activate the 'press inward function'. No scrolling

I can't say I have ever tested which pair of connections did what on the jog dial, but it seems like something is wrong with yours if you can only seem to produce one function with it.

I would say buy a new one. You have very little to lose, your phone is already open and at worst you get a jog dial that works the same.

Hehe...
the only problem is I live in a small town in the middle of the mountains in Romania... so online purchasing is not really possible

The fustrasting thing is that I was really carefull... I don't think I damaged anything and I don't think I loose anything... but of course not sure...

The green peice is withing the phone itself, show us a picture of the phone open, Under the jog dial there should be a green rubber peice, with a metallic peice inside it.

I believe that green plastic and metal thing to be the vibration motor.

if the green thing you are talking about is that big one in the pic, then it has nothing to do with the jog dial.
