Hi all - got a fairly annoying and major prob with my new p910i, and its connection to my XP SP1 pc. I can plug in the phone (into the dock) before windows boots, let windows boot, and i've got full access to the phone (P910i-like phone connection monitor icon appears in system tray alongside the heartrate monitor-style phone connection link icon). Trouble is, if I simply disconnect the phone then reconnect it, the phone connection monitor icon disappears for good (until I reboot the PC), but the phone connection link icon appears to re-establish a connection (on comport 1000, so it says). 'My P910' in file explorer still claims the phone is disconnected. This wouldn't be a major problem, but i've had my p910 debranded from vodafone, and I don't wanna load too many apps before i've got a backup. It seems the backup software shuts down, then restarts the phone. Trouble is that it never re-establishes the connection and leaves the phone in 'Backup in Progress' mode until I disconnect the battery.
Any ideas much appreciated
Thanks!

Ooops. What I meant to say was that I had a similar problem, but I downloaded the latest sync software from the SE website and after reinstalling this all was well.
I still get a similar problem when syncing via bluetooth on a second computer, but I think this relates to the BT serial drivers and not the P910 oe SE sync

Hey Screamer,
A useful utilitity I found a while ago (i can't recall if it was form a link here ot at
www.my-symbian.com) is called SErestarter
It basically restarts all the programs associated with the PC suite so you can regain your connection. Handy in some circumstances.
Also try the latest PC suite (don't install over the top of the other!) and see wether that makes a difference or not.

Gigs and dg,
a really big thanks for the help/suggestions. dg, do you mean that syncstation usb drivers? so you removed the old ones, then applied the new ones in their place? I'll have to try that...
In relation to your BT problem, it may well be your BT adapter. I got a Kensington-branded one for use with my old Nokia 6600 last year, and it's never been reliable, and has simply become unused as I can never be bothered investing the time to get it going again... Right now it's connected to a second PC, but doesn't appear to be installed (there's no Bluetooth Places icon showing up anywhere).
Gigs, those sound like very good ideas. I'll definately try the SErestarter prog. I think I may well have installed the new PC Suite over the top of the old one, so I'll have to uninstall the lot, then just install the newest one.
Quick question: I've gone ahead and installed a fair few apps to my P910 that was branded to Vodafone, but I had it debranded. Will Resetting the phone to factory defaults (or whatever the menu option is) bring back the Voda screens? Same question for the updater service: can I update the phone without the Voda stuff coming back?
Thanks for your help so far.
