'ello again
2nd question with my p910: when I type txt messages, I use t9. A lot of the time I find myself typing words not in the dictionary by splitting them up, rather than going through the pain of adding a new word to the dictionary all the time.

E.g. to type "didnt" (no apostrophie between "did" and "nt"), i'd type "did" via t9, then accept the word (right on my old nokia 6600's joystick), then type "n", then accept (right again), then "t". Trouble is, on the p910, when I accept "did" (click ok, or press scroll wheel), it puts a space after it, so I have to cancel the space before typing the "n" and the same for the "t". Any ideas how to get round this?

on top of all that, is there a way of scolling back up the list of suggested words without using the scroll wheel? I know the [0 +] button scrolls down the list, but it doesn't loop to the top once finished, and I can't find a way of going bottom-to-top instead...

Thanks again

for the "didn't" case specifically, try typing
DID.NT
(just put the dot where the apostrophe's supposed to be) and T9 will notice it's supposed to be an apostrophe and write "didn't".

i have the same problem with the space after selecting a word. most of the time it's good, but sometimes you don't want it. i just press C to go back a space after accepting a word-fragment.

sorry, not much help from me

The apostrophe goes between the n and the t.

Doesn't the P910 have a prompt that allows you to save a word not in the T9 dictionary under 'My Words' like my K750i? On mine, I type in did then click on 'More', 'Spell Word', spell didn't, click 'OK' and it adds it to 'My Words' - every time I put in did, I get the option of didn't as an alternative. Does the P910 not do this?

Thanks both for the help...

Yeah, I realise that you can just enter the standard punctuation and the phone should be able to predict the correct symbol required... It was a bad example, as it is a real word. A better example would be trying to type "ur" instead of "your" (to save space in a long text, say). On the P910, i'd have to type the "u", accept, delete the space, then type "r", or be forced to enter the new word into the dictionary (I don't always want to be bothered with that, you see). A Nokia 6600 would allow me to type "u", accept, then "r". Simple.

To clarify, yeah there is a 'My Words' section, which is very good (so you can see your own additions, and edit them as appropriate)... The ability to see about 5 suggestions on-screen at once is another good thing on the p910 that can't be found on a nokia, for example. So its not all bad. Neither's the qwerty keyboard which I may start using as my main texting method

Can anyone tell me how I scroll to the top of the suggested words list (in flip closed mode) without using the jog wheel/dial? The [0 +] button scrolls down, but doesn't loop to the top again once it's hot the bottom... and I can't find a button the goes upwards instead... any ideas?

Thanks!
