> Amazon.com audio previews on P910
Bookmark topic
Hi again,
I buy a lot of music (American mainstream rock as it happens) and I use amazon.com to make me recommendations based on what I already own and like (especially as it allows me to listen to previews of the music so I can make my own decision). I've always been annoyed by the fact that in the UK there's no way of previewing a CD when you're in a shop. Now, with my P910 I think this isn't far away. Both Opera and the built-in browser are capable of loading the homepage, and allow me to login. Only problem appears to be with the streaming audio systems used by amazon and/or the file formats they use. Everything seems to be sent to the client via a file called hurl.exe... then Windows media player, or Real player are loaded and the file link supplied by hurl.exe is played. Problem is that the P910 detects hurl.exe as a file and just downloads it, never does anything with it. I also assume that the extra information pointing to the actual audio stream is then lost. Whether the problem is that the P910 doesn't support WMA or RAM files (I think they're the files used by amazon), or something deeper/more complex, I don't know. Any ideas? Thanks!
