> How to disconnect camera in P900/P910
Bookmark topic
Due to security reasons no mobiles with cameras are allowed at work. Is there a simple way to disconnect it in a P900/P910? I guess Sony Ericsson have no similar phones without camera in the pipeline- or do they?
Cheers,
/max

Had a look at the thread:

but that did not help much. Any one out there with a more technical description of how to disconnect the camera?

I've seen people who grind off the lens, rendering the camera unusable. Just check before you do it that it will pass muster that way, since you can't go back.

How are "they" going to know if the camera has been internally disconnected?
Why not cover it with Tippex that would be pretty obvious!?

Well, you can show them the phone and they can find out for themselves. Tippex might be a quick fix but I do not think any serious security personell will buy it.
Would be nice to hand in the phone to a Sony Ericsson service station and then get some kind of certificate that verifies that the camera is disconnected. Maybe also a sticker that you could put on the phone- "No camera inside"...............

I see a market for forged certificates opening up!
Why all the paranoia about such a low resolution camera?

Agree that the camera is pretty useless but it still makes a security risk for the company. They do not want to see blueprints of future car models leaking out.

Okay, so you go through a metal detector and hand your phones in!
What about people with photographic memories who can faithfully reproduce the blueprints when they get outside!?
