Probably the most simple way is to open the picture up, click Picture / Send As / Bluetooth / Done.
Then simply select the device you want to send to.

Is Bluetooth on ? is the other device there and got Bluetooth on ?
Do you need to manually accept the picture on the other device ? Does the other device have the OBEX FTP profile so that files can be moved ?

Try rebooting the P910i.
P series phones are notorious for needing to be reboot every so often because the Bluetooth stops working.
I cannot see why the P910i would not work correctly if the PC is able to create a Bluetooth FTP.

It sounds like some sort of compatibility issue then.
I had something similar with mine. I just used the synch station to transfer files (its also quicker with serial speeds).

if it was something to do with compatibility then surely I would not beable to send files from pc to phone!

No, because like i said before ive had a similar problem myself.
Sometimes its easier to connect devices by initiating it on one device than on the other.
Im not a big expert on the P series so i cannot really offer much more help, im just talking from previous experience and problems i had with my P900 before i sold it.
