> Dead pixel on S700i camera?
Bookmark topic
Have a look at this picture below, in the bottom left of the display (apologies it's slightly out of focus) you can see there's what looks like a dead pixel:
The odd thing is, if the camera is pointed at somewhere with more light, the dead pixel disappears! Even if there is a dark object in that part of the screen, this 'dead' pixel is not there. Point the camera somewhere dark again, and it re-appears
You can see this pixel on pictures taken in darker conditions if viewed on the PC, so it's not an LCD problem. This problem is there also in the test mode in the service menu.
Any idea on this? Is it a camera problem, or something daft like a speck of dust inside the casing?

Is there anything that can be done about it?
I'm not hugely worried or annoyed by it, but if there's anything simple to do that could get rid of it I might try it

Is it a vodafone branded phone? They were known to have this fault.

No, totally unbranded (Don't think it has ever been branded) and unlocked.
Oh yes, and the 'dead' pixel moves when you zoom in, press the zoom a couple of times and the pixel disappears!

Sounds like a problem with the camera sensor

Yes, in the bottom corner. It's still there, and I think you're right, it looks like a camera defect.
Strange though that it's only there in dark pictures!
