When it come sto cars im a complete moron, yesterday went to start the car up and nothing happens, u turn the key but it does not roll over and the starter motor does not click or make a sound, ive tested the battery and seems to be fins, the lights, radio, heating all work but it refuses to turn over or even make a sound.

Does it sound like the starter motor has gone ??

Could be the solenoid has packed up... Try kick-starting it, if its manual transmission. Also, try bridging the starters terminals with an insulated screwdriver. If it kicks/whirrs its probably not at fault. Check the wiring running toward the starter thoroughly too. This message was posted from a Nokia

How do i kick start it ??

i have set it into 3rd and rocked the car to try and see if starter is jammed but no luck.

How do i check the solanoid ?

put car in 2nd gear. keep the clutch pressed. tell someone to push the car hard... when it gains momentum to a fair extent leave the clutch with a jerking effect (but not all the way), enuff to crank the engine up.

u can also try to jump start the car 2 see if the crank is fine and then drive to the service center.

Any luck with the car, mate? Could be any of a host of probz, including stuck bendix gear, altho i doubt its that drastic. Without more detailed info it's difficult to hazard an accurate guess as to the extent cause of your car's immobility... This message was posted from a Nokia
