Hi Mate
The protection book lets you get bast the first part, you know when you load up the game and those two pics and moving and you have to click to stop it and then fill in the two missing words, its that part mate

the protection bit doesn't matter in Monkey Island 2. After the first time you play it, make sure you save. Next time you load it, select anything at the protection screen, give it a sec to load the beginning sequence, then push in on the jog dial and select load game. It takes you right to where you saved. So what if you have to make a few extra clicks and wait a few seconds, the game still works fine.
