Are you happy with the volume level of the navigation voice ?

No, the voice in Route66 is too quiet.
Someone suggested taking the wav files and boosting the volume 25% with Windows Recorder. (I did that but the program went really slow afterwards and kept crashing. A fresh install with normal wavs is ok).

I'm going to get a small battery powered speaker and put that on the headphone outlet.

I increased the volume from my voice files about a month ago, and it works fine. No crashes because of it.
I used soundforge 8 which has a batch function, so you can do it in one go (I did a 6db increase). Before the sound was not loud enough, now it's ok even on the highway.

@simba19,

Do you know, if the trial version of sounforge 8 can do that?

I wouldn't know(I have a registered version). But you can try...

I'm sure there must be other programs that can do it.

@cootuk. even if tomtom don't do a software only version initially, the 'new' receiver is well spec'd and would sell on easy, as would your current one if not compatible. when i bought my current Tomtom, i was able to buy a package that had the Emtac receiver instead of the battery problem version.

Hi, have just loaded UK, Benelux and France onto a 1Gb card. Route 66 seems to be stuck on Belgium. How do I move between countries?
