Well i went to the shop today decided to buy a X800 but they didnt have it and there wasnt any plans to get it.

The best radeon in the store was the X300 but i wasnt going to throw my money buying that! but on nVidia they had the GF 6800 which i didnt buy because i wasnt sure if it was a good choice.

As my 9200 is getting worse i think i will get the GF 6800. Lets hope that nVidia wont let me down
------------------------------

Another question: What that thing about two power connectors on the 6800?

well, the 6800 draws more current than the current pci-e spec (>75w),so it require additional power in some cases for smooth functioning ,so an external power connector is plugged into card, otherwise it might fry ur mobo.

Stay with the GeForce series, cheaper than ATI

The 6800 produces roughly the same performance as a radeon X600pro, so it's not a bad card at all, especially for the price. I benchmarked one using a P4 3.0, 1.5Gb ram using 3dmark2001 and it scored 12,600. The X600 pro scored 13,333.

After viewing reviews on the net i convinced my self to buy the gf6800, but now im worried about the two four-pin power connectors because my PSU has only 2 power cables (divided in 2 each one [4]) and i have 2 hard drives and 2 dvd units, that leaves me without anything to connect to the graphic card.

Are there any PSU with more than 4 power cables? If not, can i install a second power supply just to connect the graphic card?

your PSU only haas 4 molex connectors? That doesn't sound right. (The lil white plugs with the 4 wires running into them)

If your 6800 requires a power connector you should have at least 1 spare on your PSU unless you run about 6-9 harddrives/opticle units. (Like I do lol)

Unless the PSU is VERY old and substandard you should have more than enough connectors for at least a couple more devices. 4 drives in total isn't going to use everything you have.

You could also use cables to split the connectors (y cables) so that you get extra connectors.

Or buy any semi modern psu (ie one thats mroe than 3 years old) and you should gain at least 6 connectors if not more.

Hi there! If you are using a Radeon 9200 it means that your pc only supports an AGP type video card. If you want a pci-x video card then u have to upgrade your computer motherboard. Is there a computer that supports both AGP and PCI-X? This message was posted from a Nokia
