Thanks, but in my trial version there is not a batch converter...must try Adobe Audition Trial then.

About the external speakers: I have two unamplified speakers (stereo) lying around that I bought years ago to use with my portable CD-player. With a 3.5-to-2.5 converter plug, they actually work very nicely with my Pee (probably will drain the battery to no extent, but I've never used them for long periods so who knows, eh?) and the volume is more than enough to be useful in a diesel Jeep.

I increased the audiolevel with SoundForge using the Batch Converter! Very simple and the sounds get much louder. Before it was too low even though my car (Saab 9-5) is well isolated.

Excellent. good to know. Did you find that they sounded close to distorted? I can make them a bit louder still, but was a bit wary of getting a balance between loudness and quality!

Yeah - I think they are the limit of how loud they can go. Any louder and they are likely to sound distorted.....

Speaking of muppets......
Could any please resend these increased volume files again? Please? Pretty please?
Like a complete fool, I deleted my System folder on the memory card by mistake, deleting the modified sound files along with it. I thought i'd made a backup CD, but the WAV files weren't included. Doh!!!
